Frog Force Timeline (2008)

YES! Event Our team demonstrated our robot at Michigan Technological University's YES! Event, designed to inspire students to go forth with science and technology related careers.  Besides showing students the excitement of FIRST competition through Overdrive, we also let prospective new teams drive our robot.

School presentations
Last year, Frog Force made it a goal to reach out to as many schools as possible with the FIRST message.  We presented our robot at all five elementary schools in our district as well as our district's middle school and Maybury Elementary's (Detroit Public Schools) Career Day where we explained robotics to over two  hundred elementary school children.    In addition to this, we also gave our FIRST Lego League teams exclusive tours in our shop, and demonstrated the robot at the FIRST Lego League State Championships.

Relay for Life Every year, we participate in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Event.  This past year, we hosted a video game station in order to raise funds at the event.
Michigan Clean Transportation Expo Our team set up a booth at the Michigan Clean Transportation Expo, where we exhibited our robot to over twenty corporations as well as several key members of local government in the state of Michigan and showed them the FIRST message.
FLL Involvement This year, over six members of our team mentored FIRST Lego League teams.  In addition to our experience mentoring, we also volunteered at the FIRST Lego League State Championships where we helped set up the event and demonstrated our robot throughout the day at the competition.
Offseason Competitions In order to build teamwork and increase the involvement of our team with the competition, we participated in several offseason competitions including the Indiana Robotics Invitational, the Michigan Advanced Robotics Competition, and the Kettering Kickoff.
